open: Secrets of the nanoscale materials

The research computational infrastructure at NDSU CCAST has been an essential resource that has played a key role in the discoveries and important findings made by the Katti research group. When computational needs have exceeded the CCAST resources, the CCAST computers have been critical for model development, testing and post-processing for simulations conducted on XSEDE supercomputers. One important feature of CCAST has been the human resource that is available at the center. The talented staff at CCAST work patiently with students and researchers, who have computing experience ranging from novice to expert level, assisting them in conducting simulations at CCAST. The staff has shown flexibility to accommodate special requests from researchers. This nature of support is not available to students when they use national facilities. Simulations-based materials design is the future of materials science and at NDSU, and CCAST will play a central role for those involved in conducting this research.
